Is Microsoft Copilot Chat free for businesses?
Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat is included at no extra cost with eligible Microsoft 365 business and enterprise plans, with enterprise data protection when staff sign in with their work account. The full Microsoft 365 Copilot experience inside Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint, grounded in your own files and email, is a paid licence. We help you decide who needs which.
Does pasting a client email into a free AI tool breach GDPR?
It can. If the email contains personal information, pasting it into a personal or free AI account sends that data to a third party outside your control, and some free tools may use it to improve their models. Business AI tools signed in with work accounts keep data protected and aren’t used to train public models.
What do we need in place before rolling out Copilot?
Tidy, well-permissioned data. Copilot can only see what each user can already access, so over-shared SharePoint sites and folders become a risk. We review permissions, apply sensitivity labels and data loss prevention, and secure sign-ins before switching Copilot on.
What are AI agents?
AI agents are assistants that carry out multi-step tasks for you, such as researching a topic across your files, analysing a spreadsheet or handling a routine process. Microsoft 365 includes ready-made agents, and custom agents can be built in Copilot Studio around your own data and workflows.
Will AI replace our staff?
No. Business AI takes on repetitive drafting, summarising and data entry, so your people can focus on customers, judgement and higher-value work.
How much does business AI cost?
