HJS Technology was incorporated in March 2007. Essentia Technology and HJS Accountants merged to form an outstanding IT support and IT services, telecoms and document solutions provider based in Southampton, Hampshire. With decades of technical excellence, prices matched to your budget and a team of specialist engineers in-house and field based covering the South.

Our goal is to help eradicate or reduce disruption and downtime associated with IT whilst keeping your costs to a minimum, your systems secure, planning for the future and ensuring that your IT provides you the results that your business needs to thrive.

James

James Gibson

Managing Director

James’s background was originally within the Document Solutions industry and from this he migrated to the ever-evolving IT world due to the convergence of the technologies. As founder of HJS Technology, the enviable success of the company has been built on his passion for building partnerships with customers, associates and employees through integrity, accountability and empowerment. James’s professionalism and experience ensures that he maintains a commercial perspective using plain English to simplify complicated technology subjects while maintaining a hands-on approach to many daily activities. James’s strategic thinking and innovative qualities along with practical solution-finding abilities have helped build not just on the success of HJS Technology but on the success of our customers. To relax James is an avid music fan, not just listening but also playing the drums and piano.

Kevin

Kevin Tilyard

Director

As a founding member of HJS Technology, Kevin has extensive practical knowledge, technical expertise of complex infrastructure, technical support, network support and understanding the needs of customers to leverage technology to drive business activities. This is achieved through the use of secure, reliable, expandable information technology solutions. In his role as Technical Director, Kevin oversees the Technical Team working closely with the managers on preventative, long-term services for our clients. Kevin’s qualifications come from the highest end manufacturers including Microsoft and Cisco and include the highly acclaimed PRINCE2 Project Management Certification. Outside interests include travelling; having spent 6 months exploring Australia and New Zealand, competitive running, gardening, music and Kevin is a keen Chelsea supporter.

Anne

Anne Edwards

Director

Anne has been involved with the operations and finances of HJS Technology since soon after the company was formed. She became a Director in 2012. Anne has a pivotal role in the planning and strategy of the business, and at the core of everything she does there is a strong desire to ensure that exemplary customer service is delivered. Her focus is complemented by previous commercial experience gained in banking, where she worked closely with SMEs, giving her a true understanding of the challenges facing business owners. When not helping customers and supporting the HJS Technology team, Anne has a passion for international travel – off the beaten track exploration and getting close-up with wildlife!

Charlie

Charlie McCormick

Operations Manager

Charlie joined HJS Technology in 2012. In his role as Operations Manager, he manages the engineering team. Charlie is fully responsible for the service desk and the planning and management of IT Projects for our customers to ensure they run efficiently and economically with minimal disruption whilst ensuring longevity of any new solutions implemented.

Charlie’s team handles all incoming support requests and the implementation of both physical on-premise and cloud-based IT and communications solutions. The team are also responsible for proactively managing the safety and security of our customers IT services, employing some of the most sophisticated platforms and practices to protect them from the array of ever evolving, security threats. In his ‘spare’ time, Charlie is an avid supporter and fundraiser for a number of charities close to his heart. He also enjoys running in the beautiful Hampshire countryside.

Dan

Dan Weeks

Customer Service Manager

Dan is a highly skilled, experienced and driven Customer Services Manager with a history of working in the Information Technology and Communications industry. Dan manages the Customer Services Team, as well as being responsible for processing, procurement and training. He maintains and manages strong connections with all major suppliers, to ensure that our purchasing is outstanding both in quality and value for our customers.

Ben Blake

IT Technician

Ben has an extensive practical experience of installation, maintaining and fixing various operating systems, hardware, desktop peripherals, IT network systems and firewall. His role involves resolving support issues for customers, both remotely and on-site. Ben’s meticulous approach, can-do attitude and friendly approach, make him an asset to the company. Along with a thirst for knowledge regarding changes in technology, Ben’s other interests include playing the guitar, herpetology and he also enjoys running (maybe away from any escapees!).

Chanel

Chanel Kirwan

Customer Service Adviser

Chanel is member of the HJS Technology customer service team. She complements the team with a wealth of experience and skills in customer service including a real passion to help people. Chanel ensures that every interaction – whether on the phone, on-line or in person – exceeds expectations. She enjoys being on the front line with customers, handling queries, enquiries, providing support to the service team and ensuring full customer satisfaction.

Chanel has a very keen interest in international travel – the further afield the better. She’s looking forward to extending her cultural experiences, especially exploring more of the Caribbean islands.

Hannah is an experienced, motivated, conscientious Customer Support Adviser with a history of working in the information technology and services industry. With her flexible, can-do attitude she is a highly valued and influential team member who is constantly striving to exceed expectations and is always keen to ensure every job is carried out to the highest standard.

Kirsty Cartwright

Marketing & New Business Development

Kirsty is a passionate, innovative and experienced customer-centric marketer who fully understands that exceptional customer service plays a huge part in the success of both HJS Technology, our customers and partners. The relationships that we build are essential for great customer service. Kirsty enjoys nothing more than introducing the wonderful people at HJS Technology to new businesses for those businesses to benefit from IT solutions that will help them to achieve their business goals.

Liam Birch

Liam Birch

IT Technician

In his role as an IT Technician with HJS Technology, Liam enjoys troubleshooting, diagnosing issues and assisting customers with their IT-related problems. His main skills include problem-solving, great customer service and communication and he shows exceptional attention to detail.

Liam has a great interest in emerging technologies including Cloud Based and AI solutions.

When not in front of a screen Liam enjoys board games, a welcome release from tech and playing football. A great way of keeping fit!

Martin

Martin Chambers

IT Technician

Originally from Lytham St Annes near Blackpool, Martin moved to the South Coast in 1997 to study at Southampton University. After gaining his degree, Martin has worked since 2001 in the outsourced IT managed service industry. He has a very varied and valuable experience, both as an internal and external engineer. He loves a challenge and thoroughly enjoys helping customers who have any complex problems to solve – with a real focus on customer interaction and relationship building. Outside of work, Martin enjoys a wide variety of leisure activities including flying stunt kites, miniature painting and board games.

Oenone

Oenone Steven

Customer Service Adviser

Oenone is  an integral member of the team, bringing structure and process, mainly within the projects and customer service departments. Oenone’s can-do, positive, flexible attitude and ability to support others  are of paramount importance for the efficiency and long-term objectives of the company and those of our customers. When not supporting HJS Technology staff and customers, she is involved in the support of various animal and children’s charitable organisations – including raising funds by taking part in a fire walk!

Patrick

Patrick Hayden

IT Technician

Patrick has become a great asset to HJS Technology, since moving over from the Emerald Isle. As well as having a love of the “black stuff”, he also has a vast expertise in working with SMEs, not-for-profit organisations and public sector bodies. After qualifying, Patrick worked as an internal IT technician for a large corporation before moving to the managed services sector in pursuit of a more varied, challenging and fulfilling experience. Extended areas of interest include in-depth Microsoft 365 and Azure specialisms. Patrick is a cat-loving, ultimate frisbee player whose customer service and communication skills are outstanding.

Phill

Phill Pennicott

IT Technician

Phill enjoys a real hands-on approach to IT. The challenge of fixing major issues with PCs is extremely fulfilling and he finds it of great benefit to the development of his skills. Since completing his degree at Winchester University, Phill has gained experience within the IT support and telecoms industry. He has a passion for helping people and providing excellent customer service. When not in front of a PC, Phill’s sport of choice is archery, which he finds great for relaxation and getting outside to enjoy the local countryside.

Warren

Warren Dawson

IT Technician

Since joining HJS Technology in 2022, Warren has proven to be a great asset to the team. With over 6 years’ experience. Warren has held positions in both in-house IT teams and other MSPs. Areas of expertise include telecoms, software and hardware and working for many businesses and organisations of varying sizes. His product knowledge and flexibility are exceptional.

Warren enjoys the challenge of large on-site IT projects in addition to remote support. His customer service skills, especially with people who aren’t ‘very technical’ have received many positive comments.

Outside of work Warren enjoys very active activities of various extreme sports and is currently building a car!
